Creating a new Template type document is accomplished from within the File>New dialog box.I personally find it easier to edit Template type documents with their file ending set to “.doc” since they will open in an editable window rather than as a new document. The type is independent of the current file ending on Windows, e.g.Documents have a fixed type either Template type or Regular type that is established when the document is created. Also Office 2007 and later include some additional form creation features that never quite worked the way I wanted them too. The main differences are that newer versions of Office include further security for files containing macros. The basic approach still work with Office 2010 PC and Office 2011 Mac.
